Rock Star INXS heads north!
On the way home tonight I heard on the radio that some of the contestants from last summer's Rock Star were coming to our fair city. I couldn't wait to get home to call the box office and reserve our seats. Unfortunately the box office was closed by the time I got home so I had to reserve online. It was a first for me but I've got 3rd row seats! Woohoo! Sure JD's not going to be amongst them but Sweet Suzie is and so is Mick! Dusterboy and I are so excited about this. For $20 each we get to see them and the house band (which in our humble opinion is far better that INXS). Two weeks from tonight we'll be rocking with the Rock Stars! Woohoo!
The job is still really great with the exception of the internet thing. I really miss being able to check in and play with you all but sometimes you just have to do what you gotta do. Friday's paycheck made my sadness about the internet usage a little easier to take. We spent the weekend at the cottage hooking up the water. On Saturday night we had two other couples and their kids up for a rather boisterous game of horse race. It was so much fun. There were 6 adults, 3 kids and 4 dogs. Quite a cottage full.
We were puppysitting my sister's dog, Casey. On Saturday morning I was in the bedroom trying on some new clothes from Sears when I looked out the window and spotted Casey across the road. I freaked! If something happened to Casey on my watch I'd have to leave the country. I ran out the door and slipped on the floor and my shoulder landed on the uninstalled water pump but I bounced back up and kept running for Casey. Thankfully, I got her back in the yard without a scratch. This was the second weekend in a row that we puppysat a dog and I'm ready for a weekend off. Holly knows her parameters up there but visiting dogs don't so you have to watch them every second.
I'm feeling completely out of the loop lately but trust me when I say that you all are never far from my thoughts. Miss me just a little, k?

I hope you didn't wake up with a sore shoulder! Whenever I have pulled or strained a muscle, day two is usually worse than the day of the injury.

I totally miss you. We went out to the cottage on Sunday and I was thinking of you (we have no water to connect, but we found a reallllllly dead garlic clove in the fridge).

So who is organizing this concert? Do you know if they are coming south at all? How did you get tickets (through ticketmaster?)
I would love to go. We saw Suzy at Casino Niagara a few months ago (just her and an accompaniest on guitar) and she was PHENOMENAL. I would love to see that show if they are coming down here.

The other day my boss went online to show me where her seats for the INXS show were and that wasn't really "company" business so maybe there's hope. Eww! Dead garlic! Isn't it fun to find "suprises" like that? You may have no water in your cottage but at least you have water in your lake. *pout* There is only about 3 feet of water at the deepest point in our bay due to the dam (damn) repairs. We were quite a sight out in the paddle boat trying to get the waterline to the deepest spot. I'll have to post some pictures of the lake when I get a chance. The cottagers are calling this the "Summer by the Swamp".
Meemo!!! Great to see you here in blogland wonderland! I've heard that the Rockstars are supposed to be doing one other show in the Toronto area but I have no idea when or where. We ordered our tickets through www.capitolcentre.ca - I can't wait to see this show. What's new on the Niagara Peep Meet? I still haven't made reservations but I guess I need to do that soon. *smooch*

*smooches Momma* I'm still crossing things for you and a new job. Keep that attitude you've got going. Last summer I came in second for a job that I thought would have been perfect for me. When I didn't get it I was a little disappointed but now I know that it worked out for the best because this job is much better suited for me. Like you said, it was meant to be!

Yay, a Lightsie update! Sorry, I owe you an email about my cancelled road trip. We finally flat out gave up last week when one of Tom's key people was hospitalized unexpectedly and the Bank decided he had to go to MA for some banky thing in the third week of May. Stupid bank!
I may fly out to visit my sister for a few days, but no time for a drive north. I'm so bummed. Of course my dream of skinny dipping in your lake wouldn't have worked out anyway...
